Whether you’re building on your own lot or you are building on a developer’s lot, the home building process can be very stressful. But here at Legion Custom Home Builders, we believe that an educated and informed client is a much more relaxed and happy client. That is why we take the time to educate you on every step of the new home construction process in the Houston,TX area.

Phases of Custom Home Building

Phase 1

This phase starts when you choose your custom home package. Once you’ve selected the package and the land, we get to work. We’ll conduct land surveys and prepare other contract-related documents. We will also perform soil tests for engineering and verification of deed restrictions.

Phase 2

We create the budget for your new custom home. We’ll also begin the bank financing process as the architectural plans for your home are finalized.

Phase 3

This is the start of the new home construction process. We’ll put the finishing touches on the architectural plans, secure building permits from the city or town, and get your bank financing approved.

Phase 4

It’s time to start building. A luxury home designer will construct your home from the ground up, laying the foundation, completing the framing, putting on the roof, installing plumbing and electrical, and more. This phase can be broken down into many sub-phases concerning each part of the construction process. Rest assured that you will be fully informed about what is going on every step of the way.

Phase 5

Your home is now complete, and it’s time to get ready for closing. We will arrange for an official inspection. Once that inspection is passed, your home will earn its Certificate of Occupancy. We will then guide you through your new home’s orientation, and we will schedule concluding surveys and appraisals with the sales and escrow departments in order to prepare for closing. After one final quality inspection by our builders, it’s time for closing.

Phase 6

Final closing is the last stage of your home building process! Once the home is officially yours, your New Home Counselor and our team will give one final walk-through tour, including a community orientation. We’ll answer any questions you might have and make sure you fully understand the warranty. As soon as closing is complete, the keys are placed in your hands. Then it’s time for Phase 7: living in and enjoying your luxury home.
